Cassie was born on January 15, 1934, to proud parents James and Hardenia Lawrence in Bellamy, Alabama. She completed her high school education through the Sumter County School System and graduated from Sumter County Training School in Livingston, Alabama, as part of the class of 1951.
Growing up in a loving family environment, Cassie was guided firmly by her parents. As the youngest of six siblings, she often got her way with her five brothers. Cassie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age.
Cassie enjoyed cooking, old Western movies, listening to gospel and jazz music, playing games on her iPad, and most of all talking on the phone with family and friends.
She was a remarkable woman of unwavering faith, radiating love and compassion, and touching the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. A devoted woman of God, Cassie embodied peace, kindness, and empathy, uplifting those around her and demonstrating positive encouragement through her gentle spirit. Her presence was a gift, serving as a beacon of hope and comfort to family and friends. Her warm and welcoming demeanor even brought sunshine to the lives of strangers she encountered.
Cassie was preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Hardenia Lawrence. Siblings: Herbert White, Norman Otis, John Otis, West Otis, William Lawrence, and James Lawrence. Son: Joseph C. Lawrence; Grandson: LaMarcus M. Lawrence; Granddaughter: Latisha Lawrence; Great Granddaughter: Lonnice B. Lawrence. Nieces: Annetta Faye Otis and Carolyn Otis Gowdy. Nephews: Austin G.
