In Loving Memory of Cassie Szymanski
July 23, 1947 – April 3, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Cassie Szymanski, who departed this life at the age of 77.
Born in Austria during the turmoil of World War II, Cassie came into this world under the most difficult of circumstances, in a work camp. In 1957, she immigrated to the United States with her parents in search of a better life. She arrived speaking only Polish, and through strength, determination, and grace, she learned English and embraced a new culture while holding tight to her heritage.
She was the proud mother of Traci Milliken (spouse Aaron Morris) and the deeply devoted grandmother of Zach Wilson (spouse Sydney), Ryan Wilson, Cayden Wilson and Alison Brandle (Kyle Dobbins). Her joy only multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Finnegan Wilson Liam and Maverick Dobbins, who lit up her later years with laughter and love.
A true sports enthusiast, Cassie Szymanski could often be found cheering on her beloved Chicago Bears and Cubs, passionately rooting for Notre Dame football, and admiring her favorite basketball player, Steph Curry. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and game days with her were always memorable.
Above all else, she loved her family and the Lord with every fiber of her being. Her faith guided her life, and her generosity touched everyone who knew her. She had a heart that welcomed all, a soul that gave freely, and a spirit that uplifted those around her.
Cassie Szymanski leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, kindness, and faith. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday April 9th at 10 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church in Forest City, NC
