Catharine Barman Obituary
Cathy was born on March 15, 1958, in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Richard Barman and Sandra (Gurnham) Barman.
Cathy worked for Franciscan Health/Alverno Laboratory in the laboratory as a medical laboratory technician for over 38 years.
She graduated from West Lafayette High School and Ivy Tech Community College.
Cathy enjoyed music, reading, cross-stitching, loved dogs, and video games. She was an avid walker, and walked several miles a day, rain or shine.
She was a devoted daughter and helped with the care of her parents.
The love and light of her life is her only son, Stuart T. Barman.
She is survived by her son, a brother, David (Vicki) Barman, her sister, Sharon (John) Lewis, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the: Human Society for Greater Lafayette.

I worked with Cathy for many years in the laboratory at the old St. Elizabeth Medical Center (Alverno Labs Franciscan Hospital, Lafayette).
She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Stuart and Family and the rest of her family.
