Catherine Hope "Cat" Bruno
Cat Bruno died on September 2, 2023 in New York, NY. Cat was born on August 25, 1999 in Washington, DC and grew up in Bethesda, MD. She graduated from Walter Johnson High School, studied fine arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and was about to begin classes at the Art Students League of New York.
Cat was a talented artist and creative to her core, drawing and painting almost from the time she could pick up a pencil and a paint brush. Her creativity extended to her sense of style. She loved scouring vintage and thrift stores for one-of-a-kind pieces, and always knew exactly what to wear and how to wear it. Cat was so much fun and always up for an adventure, taking advantage of every chance she had to travel and explore. She had a knack for finding the best places to eat or the quirkiest bars no matter where we were. Cat also rode horses from the time she was little and had a soft spot for animals of all kinds, but especially rescue cats and dogs.
Cat loved fiercely and unapologetically and cared deeply for her friends and her family. She was wise beyond her years, dispensing sage advice that somehow was always what you needed to hear in that moment. She was a force to be reckoned with and a brilliant, beautiful, creative light in this world. We will miss her forever.
Cat is survived by her loving family-her parents, Lori Piccolo and Tom Bruno, her brother, John, and sister, Anna, as well as her grandparents, John and Angie Bruno and Joy and Rich O'Connell, her aunts and uncles, Traci and John Dolby, Kristi Piccolo, Tom and Nickey O'Connell, Mike O'Connell, and Catherine and Darren Soodak, and her cousins, Grace, Jack, Drew, and Brian Dolby, Stella and Beck Hansen, Ava, Maggie, and Danny O'Connell, and Tommy Soodak. She also leaves behind many friends who loved her.
We will hold a celebration of Cat's beautiful life in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to support the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria online or via check mailed to 4101 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304 or the Art Students League of New York's Seeds program online or via check mailed to Attn: Development Department, The Art Students League of New York, 215 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019.

Cat is one of the most Gorgeous, smart, and talented woman i´ve ever met, she will be greatly missed. The moment we meet was beautiful, as she was walking into class i couldn´t take my eyes off of her. She sat next to me and asked to borrow a pencil from another student in front of her. When I over heard him denying. She turned to me and I interrupted her and reluctantly gave her mine. We then chatted and laughed the whole class period. I eventually saw her art and what she loved to do, her art was amazing. Cat made me so passionate about mine and it melted my heart to hear what happens and still does, truly a gifted soul. My condolences to the family and friends we loved her and we will never stop loving her.
