TAYLORS, SOUTH CAROLINA - At the age of 82, Catherine “Cathie” J. Peak passed from this earthly life into her eternal rest.
Born on August 10, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Catherine was raised there before becoming a longtime resident of Stow, Ohio. She dedicated her life to caring for others - first as a stay-at-home mom, and later through her work. She spent many fulfilling years at the United Methodist Church in Stow Childcare Center, where she was affectionately known as “Peaky.”
Catherine was the beloved wife of Gerald “Jerry” Peak for 40 wonderful years until his passing. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Dawn Dowden, of South Carolina, and her son, Charles Peak (Marie) of Ohio. Her greatest joy came from being “Mimi” to her seven grandchildren, Caleb, Kai, Emma, Alexandria, Addison, Cody, and Wesley, all of whom will forever treasure the love, laughter, and memories she gave them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Peak; her son-in-law, Tony Dowden; her brother, Robert Miller; two nephews; and her parents, Robert and Mary Miller.
Catherine had an enthusiasm for shopping, cherished time spent with family and made friends wherever she went. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love of making blankets for others, her fondness for the word “believe,” and her unintentional humor.
A celebration of Catherine’s life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 AM, with a service at 11 AM, followed by burial at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to United Methodist Church in Stow, 4880 Fishcreek Road, Stow, OH 44224, or your local hospice care provider.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
