On October 14, 2024, the gates of Heaven opened widely and welcomed Cathy Adams, the most beautiful, selfless, genuine, friendly, happy, kind, and caring person in the world. Cathy passed away at the age of 57 on her 29th wedding anniversary lying next to her husband (Scott) after battling a 4-year journey with progressive supranuclear palsy. Cathy's continuous smile was contagious. She loved being a wife, mother, family member, and friend. Cathy saw the best in everything around her and never complained. Even in the final stages of her illness, she woke up every day with a smile on her face and never let the disease take away her ability to say, "I love you".
Cathy was born in Morgantown, West Virginia and grew up in Winter Park, Florida. After earning a degree in dental hygiene, she went to work for Dr. Gabel DDS and quickly became one of the most sought-after hygienists in Central Florida. Cathy retired early to raise our daughters. She made our home the one all the kids would come to. She loved driving the girls to the many practices, tournaments, school events, and games throughout their childhood and adolescence. Cathy enjoyed exercising, boating, fishing and being with those she loved.
Cathy is survived by her husband Scott, daughters Kendall and Megan Adams, a large extended family, and a countless number of friends. Cathy was a bright light on this earth and will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oviedo on Friday November 1st at 12:00 pm.
