Catherine "Cathy" Cleckner, 91, of Harrisburg, PA, passed peacefully into God's hands on January 30, 2025 in Bradenton, FL. Born June 9, 1933, in Frackville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Yatcilla (Homza).
Cathy was the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Cleckner Jr. and a devoted mother to Karen Wansa (husband Bill), Charles Cleckner III (wife Tonya), and Gregory Cleckner (wife Jennifer). She was a cherished grandmother to Clint Wansa, Amanda Wansa Morgan, Olivia and Abbigail Cleckner, Hannah Hunter, Kohl Cleckner, Emily, Alec, and Bailey Cleckner and mother-in-law to Cynthia Kepner-Cleckner and brother of George Yatcilla (wife Marie). Cathy also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her cherished son Steven Cleckner, adored granddaughter Jenna Wansa, favorite cousin Joy Curley, and brothers Michael, Joseph, and Theodore Yatcilla.
Cathy dedicated her career to serving others as a Consumer Protection Officer with the Pennsylvania Attorney's General Office. In retirement, she found joy living with her children and sharing laughter and memories with her grandchildren. In her final years she was lovingly cared for by her daughter Karen and son-in-law Bill.
A devout Catholic, Cathy was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Community Church in Sykesville, MD; St. Margaret Mary's Church; and St. Catherine Laboure's Church in Harrisburg. She lived her faith through prayer, scripture reading with her daughter, and following Christ's example of love. "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her" (Proverbs 31:28).
A private family service will be held at St. Catherine Laboure's Church with interment to follow. Memorial & Tribute Contributions can be made in Cathy's name and directed to the:
