Catherine Marie (nee Palermo) Dangelantonio passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2025 at the age of 88. Born on June 3, 1937 in Philadelphia, Catherine was the daughter and eldest child of Giuseppe and Bertha (nee Miraglia) Palermo. Catherine was predeceased by her brother Joseph Palermo, her first husband, Gabriel Dangelantonio, her second husband, Alphonse Dangelantonio, and Alphonse's son, Arthur (Regina) Dangelantonio. Catherine is survived by her three children, Anthony (Sarah) Dangelantonio, Michael Dangelantonio, and Steven (Jennifer) Dangelantonio, and Alphonse's children, Pasquale (Linda) Dangelantonio, Rosemary (Robert) Barlam. Amelia (Glen) Bryson, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Catherine grew up on Latona Street in her beloved South Philly in a typical Depression-era Italian-American family. She graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in Philadelphia and took a job working as a health care billing clerk and administrative assistant for many years in several different companies and hospitals. She was a devoted and responsible employee who was known to her coworkers as "Cass" or Cassie"/ Sunday family dinners were a tradition in her house and always featured gravy, pasta (homemade), amazing meatballs, and Sinatra on the record player. There was always plenty of food for everyone because in her house , the only thing worse than murder was running out of food. Food, cooking, and feeding others were lifelong passions of hers. Some who knew her might say force feeding others and raining down judgment if you didn't eat enough was also a passion of hers. She loved a clean house and used cleaning products that today would require permission from the Environmental Protection Agency!

She loved traveling, especially when it was a trip to an Atlantic City casino. There were slip covers on all of her furniture, despite the constant pleas from her children to remove it. She always put her family first and loved visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to Catherine's viewing from 9:30-10:30am on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. Celebration of Life will be in the funeral home at 10:30am. Interment will follow services at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19063.
