Catherine Dobbins

Catherine Dobbins, 70 of Statesville, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born in Iredell County on August 14, 1953, to Julia Jane Dobbins and the late Albert Gaines. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Dobbins and a grandson, Ralph Franklin Bellamy.
Catherine loved people and never met a stranger. She would open her door to anyone and would feed them as well. She loved playing cards and cooking.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Anthony Dobbins, Donneail Dobbins, three daughters, Vandetta Dobbins, Sheila Dobbins, Rontisha Dobbins, six grandchildren, William Dobbins, Simone Gregory, Dwight Mumford, Jr., Tijayanna Dobbins, Jashawn Dobbins, Brianna Dobbins, five great-grandchildren, Marlee Mumford, Princeton Mumford, Aladdin Turner, Michael Burch, Kehlani Phifer,  two brothers, John Dobbins (Gwen), Kenneth Dobbins (Beverly), and three sisters, Betty Edwards (WC), Lisa Hunter (Pete), Barbara Turner.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 3:00 pm at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lewis officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service.
