Catherine Wendy Fricke

Catherine Wendy Fricke was born on January 2nd, 1950 to James and Barbara (Robb) Lamb in Otley, England. Catherine passed away in her home, surrounded by loved ones on July 29th, 2025 in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Cathy, as she was better known, grew up in England but as a young woman left England for Spain. She met her husband Duane Fricke (of Rockford, WA) in Madrid; they were married on April 7, 1972 in Bradford, England. Their union ultimately led to living on three continents, in five countries, and four different states, with Washington being home since 1989.

Catherine was very devoted to raising her family of four sons: Andrew, Mark, Robert and Timothy. She loved being surrounded by her children, 12 grandchildren, and great-grandson more than anything, and her hobbies included reading, gardening, wine tasting, and travel. In 1988, Cathy enrolled in bank teller training, leading to a career in banking. She served in various roles, from teller to branch manager. After a nearly 30 year-long career, she eventually retired from Horizon Credit Union.

Catherine Fricke is preceded in death by her parents Barbara and James Lamb, her son Andrew Fricke, her grandson Nickolas Fricke, and her brother Robert Lamb.

Catherine is survived by her devoted husband Duane Fricke; sons Mark (Jessica) Fricke, Robert (Michael) Fricke, and Timothy (Camille) Fricke and their families; the family of son Andrew Fricke; and siblings Stephen, Richard, Peter, Lou, and Tracy and their families.
