Gary Lynn Overman

Gone but not lost. Passed on March 10th, 2026 in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Born on July 27th, 1940 to Ray R. Overman Sr. and Lucille M (Frizzell) Overman at Cottonwood, Idaho. Gary passed away on March 10th, 2026 in Greenacres, WA.

Gary lived in Moscow, Idaho and Palouse, Washington as his father was in Alaska during World War II and surveyed for the Army Engineers at Alcan Alaska Railroad. He moved to Lewiston, Idaho in 1942.

Gary attended school at Webster Grade School and a small country school taught by his grandmother in Eureka, Washington. In 1959, Gary graduated from Lewiston High School.

Gary met the loved of his life Carol A Wolbing of Clarkston, Washington. They married on June 6th, 1959 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho at the Hitching Post for $17.00. While still staying in Lewiston, they started their family. In 1972, Gary and his family moved to Spokane Valley, Washington to be closer to his life's carrier of Heavy Highway Construction. He retired in 2002.

Gary loved the lakes in the area. He was especially fond of the Lake Coeur d'Alene Resort and Sunup Bay Resort. He loved to garden. He also was a fan of genealogy.

Gary came to know The Lord Jesus Christ in 1973 in a very personal experience. Jesus stood at his door and knocked, so Gary asked Him to come in and He did. He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Spokane Valley.

Preceded in death is Gary's parents Ray and Lucille Overman. Gary is survived by his wife Carol; sons Timothy (Linda) Overman of Buckeye, AZ and Stephen (Konnie) Overman of Renton, WA; and brother Ray Overman Jr. of Clarkston, WA.
