On the afternoon of September 10, 2025. Fight 100 safely touched down at the Gates of Heaven, carrying its most precious passenger. Catherine Greer, affectionately known as "Kitty." Catherine was born on July 28, 1925, in Beckley, West Virginia, to the late Christine Onion and Wesley Greer, She was raised in West Virginia and received her early education in Sullivan. As a young woman beginning her family. Catherine relocated to Newark. New Jersey. where she became a devoted homemaker and loving mother of four. During her years in Newark, she was a vibrant presence in her community, helping lead initiatives such as the Dayton Street Library and managing the Dayton Street Laundromat, always striving to uplift those around her. In 2006. Catherine moved to Orlando, Florida. alongside her eldest daughter, Gwendolyn Harris, and her grandchildren. She embraced life fully in Orlando, enjoying family outings to Disney World, SeaWorld. Universal's City Walk, beach vacations, and many joyful days at the Winter Garden Daycare Center. Known to family and friends as "Kitty," she had a passion for singing her own melodies, painting, working puzzles, crocheting. latch hooking, journaling, reading. and studying the Bible. In July 2025. Catherine reached the incredible milestone of turning 100 years old. a joyous occasion celebrated with beloved family and friends. She was honored by the City of Orlando with an official proclamation declaring July 28th as Catherine Greer Day." a testament to her enduring legacy and the lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Ruth Green, Esther Williams, Roberta Brown, and Mary Vaughn, sons, Freddie Edward McCray and Robert Greer; and by her daughter. Gwendolyn Harris. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Tobias New Jersey: grandchildren: Nicole Harris, Keith Phillips, Kevin Phillips (Juana), Sameera Isoff. Yolanda Gibbs, and Zakiyyah Major; great grandchildren: Tyree Lee, laden Stanford, Joshua Isoff, Matthew Isoff, lade Phillips, Starr Phillips, Keyon Phillips, Kamari Phillips, Kyomi, Anessa, Eniya, lahlani Phillips, Laquan Jones, Shalon, lohnell, lohnae, and Kamori; two younger brothers: Wesley Greer (Rosetta) of Beckley, West Virginia, and Waymon Greer (Selena) of Richmond, Virginia; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to hold her in their hearts. With a heart full of warmth. an unforgettable laugh, and a fun sense of humor, Catherine "Kitty" was a mother to many and a friend to all. She had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
