Catherine Elizabeth Hendricks, "Cathy," 76, of Oak Harbor, Washington, and previously of Kentucky and Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025.

Born in Springfield, Illinois on October 13, 1948, Cathy spent her life in care of others, as an aide for disabled children, a nurse, and a truly dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband J. Michael Hendricks; children John Hendricks, Ann Hendricks (Raymond Ng), Catie Lasley (Aaron Lasley), and Megan Schuster (Danny Schuster); and six adored grandchildren.

After many years in Illinois and Kentucky, Cathy fell in love with Washington state and Whidbey Island in particular, where she enjoyed her final home along with her husband and son. She was from her young adulthood on a devoted Baha'i and anticipated death as the natural bridge to a wonderful expanded life in God's greater realms beyond. Cathy had a deep sense of humor and joy, unwavering principles and morality, endless energy to attend to the needs of life and extend cheer to others, great compassion and love, and keen insight to the spiritual and practical principles underlying life and relationships. She was deeply attached to Whidbey's nature, beaches, and wildlife, and also held special fondness for animals, gardening and flowers, art, and music, especially Seals and Crofts, James Taylor, Alison Krauss, and Bayou music.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to North Whidbey Help House.
