Catherine Hill Obituary
Catherine(Cass) Ammon Hill, age 76, passed away on March 14, 2026.Beloved mother of Dorothy Robbins(nee Corkery)(Tre) and James Corkery(Jenn). Loving grandmother of Mariah Robb(nee Corkery), Jordan Corkery, Shania Corkery and Colin Corkery. Proud great-grandmother of Gavin Robb, Izaiah Robb, Greyson Corkery and Aurora Corkery. Cass was predeceased by her beloved son, Raymond Paul Hill Jr., her parents John R and Dorothy Ammon(nee Van Sciver) and all of her siblings: James Ammon, John R Ammon Jr., Joseph Ammon and Dorothy Marigliano(nee Ammon).
Cass was raised in Southwest Philadelphia, Saint Barnabas Parish. She worked for many years in property management, then many more at an import export brokerage. Later in life, she worked at her daughter's restaurants before finally retiring.
Cass always spent the majority of her free time caring for her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. Christmas was always magical in her house, presents everywhere and every inch of the house was decorated. Weekends were always busy hosting sleepovers with her youngest son and her grandchildren. Mom's taxi made sure everyone got where they needed to go and friends had a ride home too.
Her granddaughter, Mariah, describes her perfectly: "She was a strong, stubborn and funny woman with a bit of a potty mouth. It was always funny to hear her tell stories .Everyone who met her loved her. And she loved everyone. She had a way of making anyone feel like family."
Cass spent her later retirement years living with her daughter and enjoying relaxing beach trips, a move 2 years ago to a charming single-level home in the Amish countryside, and dining out often at her favorite local restaurants. Cass loved to watch Wheel of Fortune with her daughter and do various crafts. Flowers always brightened her days. When asked what she would like to be remembered for, her answer was for how much I loved my children.
Visitation and funeral service with a luncheon/dinner to follow will be in the near future. Cass's obituary will be updated when the date and time are finalized. Flowers are appreciated.
