Catherine Sue Johnson, 68, wife of the late Rev. Lewis Johnson, passed away Monday, April 29, 2025 in Frankfort Kentucky. She was born in Shelbyville Kentucky to the late Joe and Ruby Lewis. Chatherine was member of First Baptist Church in Versailles and a member of the choir, Catherine was first baptized at Secons Christian Church of Lawrenceburg. Catherine enjoyed her church among other things such as working outdoors, doing crossword puzzles, puzzles of any nature and was especially fond of her candy. Most that knew her, knew her as "Mama Sue".
Catherine was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Napier, JoAnn Fuller and Betty Thompson and brother, Jessie Lewis. Catherine will lovingly be remembered by her children, Angie Johnson of Versailles, Whitney Johnson of Versailles, Chris Johnson of Versailles, Jay Johnson of Versailles, Brother Donald Ray (Claudia) Burley of Shelbyville, Sisters Patsy Bean of Lawrenceburg, Sandra Pritchard Maxberry of Versailles, Grandchildren, Azaria Johnson, Aubry King, Alayah Johnson, Aziah Williams, Ziona Williams and Harmony Williams and survived by many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, May 9,2025 at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, Kentucky. Visitation will be11:00 am until service time. Burial will be at Camp Nelson at a later date. Friends and Family are encouraged to leave messages of condolences and memories on Catherine's tribute wall.
