Catherine Johnson

Catherine M. Johnson, 106 of Rockford, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after a short illness. Born October 24, 1919, on the Banks Homestead just south of Irene, IL. Daughter of Raymond and Blanche (Roach) Banks. Catherine married Marshall Johnson on May 12, 1950. They were married for 62 years. Catherine worked in many offices her favorite being Seidler News Agency and the last place was in the office of Goldblatt's at the Rockford Plaza. After retiring they spent many years in Arizona and Florida. Member of Broadway Covenant Church where she attended for many years. Catherine loved to read and knit.

Survived by her two children: Marcia and Brad and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, sisters Betty Rae and Maxine both of which died in childhood and Dorothy Allton Carlson. Special thanks to Serenity Hospice especially Kacey, Terry, and Jenny among many others for their care and support.
