Catherine Koskoski

Catherine Koskoski, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 22, 2025.
Born in Port Reading to Joseph and Mary Kralich, she resided in Carteret for most of her life. Always a hard worker, Catherine held many part time jobs beginning in high school with an afterschool job at Ulman's Bakery in Carteret. She graduated from Carteret High School in 1953 and began her secretarial career at Stern & Dragoset in Woodbridge and later continued with Merck & Co in Rahway. It was also in Carteret that she met the love of her life, George, who she married in 1960. After several years devoted to raising their three children, Catherine returned to her career as an administrative assistant in the Social Work department of Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy from which she retired after more than 20 years of service. Her real calling, however, was taking care of the people in her life. She was devoted to her family and friends and there really wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them. The people in her life could depend on Catherine to be helpful in any way she could, from simple errand-running to providing care during the most difficult times.
As the primary caregiver for her mother, Catherine consolidated households with a move to Metuchen where she could also help with raising the next generation and was a strong and loving presence in the life of her grandchildren. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family and found so much joy in the simple pleasures of attending their countless school plays, band concerts and graduations where she could watch the kids shine.
She is predeceased by her loving husband George and brother John Kralich.
She is survived by her three children: son John and his wife, Magda, daughter Cathy and daughter Linda and her husband, Pete, all residents of Metuchen. Additionally, she is survived by her four grandchildren, Ian, Sandra, Alexander and Emmett, as well as her sister-in-law, Julianne Kralich of Myrtle Beach. Catherine was also the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews and a cherished friend.
Viewing will be on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 2 – 6 PM at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home at 568 Middlesex Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. The Funeral Liturgy will be at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church, 42 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, NJ at 10AM on Monday, December 29, 2025.
