Catherine graduated from Mercy Hospital in
Cedar Rapids, IA. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She loved working in the NICU and all other parts of the hospital. She worked as an LPN for 10 years at Mercy Hospital and as a private care nurse. When ever there was shortage of nurses at St. Lukes, Catherine would be one of the first to volunteer. Her compassion, dedication and strong Christian faith was always on full display in how greatly she enjoyed taking care of those in need of help.
Catherine was a lover of dogs; her most recent friends were Dora (Plott Hound) and Jackson (German Short Hair Pointer). She would rescue small birds and rabbits and ensure they regained their health and she would release them back to nature. The caring, love and nurture would transcend to the family to have compassion for all creatures of God.
She loved crocheting, making gifts for the family on birthdays and Christmases. Both Catherine and Perry enjoyed Square dancing competitions. She adored being with the family by watching the Hallmark channel and various sporting events. She loved roller skating with her husband Perry, as it was a joy they both shared dearly as they glided together.
At the Christian Missionary Alliance, she taught Sunday school, played Organ and Piano. She brought countless joy to the congregation as a greeter. Perry and Catherine volunteered the upkeep of the church they attended.
Both Catherine's and Perry's love, beautiful souls and Christian faith will be forever in the hearts of their family.
Special thanks to the staff of St. Lukes T.C.C. for the care and respect shown to Catherine.
Donations given to the family on behalf of Catherine will be given to her favorite animal shelter.
