Thomas Brennan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on Feb. 19, 2026.
Thomas "Tom" Malcolm Brennan, 85 of Cedar Rapids went to Heaven Monday, February 16, 2026 at St Luke's Hospital. Services will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. We'll begin with visitation at 9:30, followed by the funeral mass, and luncheon.

Tom was born September 17, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The oldest of six boys for Lydia Lucille (Henry)Brennan & Malcolm Brennan Sr. He was a graduate of Taylor High School before honorably serving with the Air Force. Tom was also a graduate of Coe College. He worked at Rockwell Collins for 33 years. He almost reached his ultimate goal of being retired for as long as he worked, although he was active in retirement as a renaissance man of varied interests. He looked forward to his daily coffee with his friend Jim Brush where they talked about all the goings on in the world and both of their families.

He is survived by Cindy (Tampir) Brennan, his wife of 52 years, and his two daughters: Jenny (Chris) Russie of Birmingham, AL and Kelly (Lewis) Netolicky of Solon. He was the extra proud Papa of Brayden, Zoee, & Peyton Netolicky. He has 3 surviving brothers: Tim (Trudy) Brennan, Malcolm (Paula) Brennan Jr., and David (Rella) Brennan, and many nieces and nephews. Who will all miss him dearly.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Lydia Lucille (Henry) Brennan & Malcolm Brennan Sr., his two brothers Mickey Brennan & Denny Brennan, and many friends and loved ones.

Tom was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and member of John XXIII Catholic Church. An enthusiastic guide at the Grant Wood Museum in Stone City, IA, and an avid traveler. He kept busy because, as we all know, his favorite saying: "Idle Hands are the Devil's Workshop".

In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be directed to a charity of your choice, or the family, in Tom's name.
