At the age of five, Cathy moved with her parents and sister to Lemitar, NM, where she grew up and later raised her two sons, Daniel and Robert Lopez, in Socorro. Devoted to her boys, she carried the responsibility of being both a mother and a father, providing strength, love, and guidance throughout their lives.
When her sons were grown, Cathy fearlessly pursued a new path, attending truck driving school and proudly graduating as the only woman in her class. She went on to drive a semi-truck coast to coast across the lower 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. After retiring from trucking, she continued to serve her community as a school bus driver.Cathy’s Catholic faith was central to her life. She was a proud Catholic Daughter and faithfully served San Miguel Church for many years. The family thanks San Miguel Catholic church for their continued support.
Cathy was known for her generosity, always putting the needs of others before her own. She gave all she could to help those around her. She loved to laugh, share a good joke, and often reminded people, “You got it, because a trucker brought it.”She cherished her family deeply—her sons and their wives, her granddaughters, great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. Cathy’s love and spirit touched many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
“You made it home, Mother. We love you and we will miss you. This is not goodbye—it’s simply, see you later.”Cathy is preceded in death by her parents Arnie and Edna Bell Anderson, husband Nazario Lopez, sister Carol and brother in law , Julian Silva, daughter in laws Colleen Lopez and Sonya Lopez.
