Catherine M., (nee Dizeo), 85, of Paramus, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 after a brief illness, with her family at her side. She is predeceased by her loving husband Louis Miele, mother Julia Dizeo (nee Preli), father Nicholas Dizeo and brother Joseph Dizeo. Catherine is a graduate of The Fontbonne Hall Academy, in Brooklyn, New York and the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Manhattan, and worked as an Executive Secretary at the Johns Manville Corporation, New York, New York. Born in Brooklyn, she and Louis and her mother Julia, moved to Paramus in 1960, and Catherine immediately became involved in her community. As a faithful parishioner of the RC Church of the Annunciation in Paramus, Catherine contributed as a volunteer to the functioning of the parish and later worked as the Executive Assistant to the pastor for over 25 years. Both she and her husband Louis were involved in the restoration of their parish, Louis consulting as a Civil Engineer, PE and as donors of a beautiful stained glass window central to the church. Catherine had a life-long love of learning, taking her children to Manhattan's museums on weekends and regular visits to the Paramus libraries, imbuing both of her children with a love of the arts and reading. A New Yorker through and through, Catherine also attended many Broadway plays, musicals, ballets and operas with her family and friends and as part of a theater group. Catherine was also an advocate for the environment and a longtime member of the Paramus Garden Club, working on beautification campaigns in her town, and she always expressed pride in Paramus's status as a Tree City, USA. She is survived by her loving children Regina and Christopher (and his partner Daniel Sedlock) as well many close friends, extended family and the community of which she was a part, and will be dearly missed by so many.
