Catherine Elaine Rubach of Jacksonville, Florida beloved, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 77 years.
She was born on March 10, 1947 in Homerville, Georgia to the late Robert Frank Wheeler and the late Ruth Whittington Zencik.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Gary L Rubach. Her children, daughter Catherine Paige Cyrus (Gary), son John Morris Bispham Jr and stepchildren David Rubach (Vallery), Kim Rubach, and Kelly Sheppard (John). Grandchildren Bryan Cyrus (Elizabeth), Taylor Rubach, Ashley Washington (Darrell), Landon Sheppard, Derrick Sheppard, Erica Hernandez (Josh), Kris Combs, Chase Combs, Shayne Mizell (Jessica). Great-grandchildren Lucas Cyrus, Sadie Cyrus, Kinsley Combs, Seth Combs, Tommy Mizell, Hudson Sheppard. Her sister Debbie Rogowski, and many other family members along with her faithful dogs Ali and Cooper.
Catherine and Gary were actively involved in several organizations during their marriage. Shriners International (Drum and Bugle Corp), Eastern Star and International Order of Rainbow for Girls where she gave her time and talents in helping all.
She retired from BellSouth/AT&T in 2001 after 30 plus years of faithful service.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her love for her family and friends was an everlasting gift, leaving us with countless memories that will forever be in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, December 30, 2024 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor Austin DeLoach Jr. officiating with interment immediately following. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time.
