COLD SPRING- Catherine Anne (Sherry) Sage, a Cold Spring resident for the past 10 years, and a former resident of the Bronx, Las Vegas, and of Georgia, passed away on October 28, 2025, at the Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park. She was 69.
Daughter of the late Gerard & Nora (Shaughnessy) Sherry, she was born on April 27, 1956, in the Bronx. She was a purchasing agent in the casinos out in Las Vegas for many years.
Catherine was a loyal person to her family and friends. She was very resilient all her life. Instead of saying, "Why me", she would say, "Try me", when facing her illness. She had an infatuation with the arts, especially theater. She was in grade school productions. She loved dancing, being the life of the party and listening to her favorite musicians including Leon Russell and Bruce Springsteen. Catherine was a proud and faithful friend of Bill W.
She is survived by her daughter Catrina Hicks Moore of Georgia; her sons Ernest & Nicholas Curcio, both of Las Vegas; James Hicks of Florida; her grandchildren Luke Jamison Hicks, Caden Lamar Hicks, Aria Kate Hicks, Kalel Gerard Acker & Lucy Ann Moore; her step-grandchildren Makenna Moore & Olivia Moore; her siblings Nora (Alfred) Crispino, John (Joyce) Sherry, James (Ellen) Sherry, Gerard (Mery) Sherry, Thomas Sherry, Bill (Vivi) Sherry; 2 nieces; 4 nephews; 7 great nieces; 4 great nephews as well as many friends and cousins.
Along with her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her brother Michael and her sister Mary and her husband.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Putnam County Senior Services, by calling their number at 845-808-1700.
