Catherine Ann Seaman

The family of Catherine Ann Seaman of Jacksonville, IL is saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the age of 69 years.

She will lovingly be remembered and greatly missed by many family cousins. So that they could have more time to spend together Catherine moved from Minnesota to Jacksonville, Illinois in 2022 to be near to her cousins living nearby. She will also be dearly missed by her coworkers from Fairview health in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she will always hold a place in their hearts.

She was predeceased by her parents William Seaman and Sally A. Bates Seaman.

Catherine is fondly remembered from her youth and early adult years as being very independent and adventurous with a ready sense of humor. She enjoyed riding a motorcycle and was always employed in her early adult years as one of the few women powerline technicians for a utility company operating in the Quad Cities.

After a serious work-related injury she returned to school to retrain for another field of employment and received her master's degree in Biological Science from the University of Minnesota. Catherine then worked in medical education providing instruction through a program affiliated with the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She later served on a team as SOT data abstractor for Fairview Health assisting online with administrator protocol for organ donor/transplants.

Catherine loved animals, and in particular a much-loved Golden Retriever named Honey Bear. She rescued two cats, one named Tubby and the latest a kitten which she called Belle.

A private family internment has taken place and no services will be held at Catherine's request. Memorial donations to honor Catherine may be made to animal rescue organizations or charity of your choice.
