Catherine (Travers) Silva, age 80 of Raynham, passed away on January 23, 2026 at Morton Hospital.
She was the wife of John D. Silva Jr.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise (Pacheco) Travers.
Mom’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was an amazing cook and loved having Sunday dinners with her family. She also had quite a love for baking and will be remembered by many for her homemade decadent cookies and fudge she shared Every Christmas!
Catherine loved the beach and the ocean, spending time in the warm sunshine. She enjoyed crocheting, making slippers, gloves, hats, and blankets for her loved ones. She also loved her family pets over the years.
She was snarky yet classy and always spoke her mind. Many admired her for this. Fun loving and loyal and stronger than any woman I know.
Besides her beloved husband John of 60 years, she is survived by her loving daughters; Christine Lacy, Elizabeth Adams and husband John, Pamela Vanderbrink and husband William, brother; Joseph Travers, sisters; Nancy Sweeney, Doris Turcotte, grandchildren; Jazmin, Jason, Zachary, great-grandchildren; Jackson, Kieran and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Louise Mattos.
Catherine's funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 9:00 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in Holy Family Church, 372 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton.
Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.
