Cathey Roach

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Catherine "Cathey" Ruth Roach of Midwest City peacefully passed away at age 74.
Cathey was born on December 30, 1950, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Emmett and Jackie Roach and she spent her early years living in Ratliff City, Oklahoma. She completed her primary education in the Fox school system and graduated from Fox High School in 1969 where she was an honor student and active in the school band. She received her degree in psychology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1973.
Cathey's life passion was music and often sang with her parents, brother and sister at all-night sing-alongs at churches throughout Oklahoma. She was known in local music circles as a singer and performed with bands in Duncan, Oklahoma City and Gainesville, Texas. She loved animals and in her early years owned and cared for horses. Later, she provided a home for stray cats.
Cathey spent time in Duncan and Ardmore before moving to Del City in 1995. A few years later, she bought a home in Midwest City where she spent the remainder of her days.
She loved her job with R and L Carriers Trucking Company and worked with them for 27 years. She was a favorite with her co-workers and became close friends with many of them.
Cathey was preceded in death by her father Emmett Roach, mother Jackie Roach and sister Mary and survived by her brother Richard and his wife Julie, their children Brent and Becca, their grandchildren Ellie and Alex Hadeed and nephew Chris Sullivan. A graveside service officiated by Rev. Mike Johnston will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2025, at the Velma Cemetery in Velma, Oklahoma. Richard Roach, Chris Sullivan, Graham Pugh, Ian Pugh and Josalynn Pugh will honor Cathey as pallbearers.
Cathey told her cousin "I Hope I Made a Difference". AND She did!
