Cathryn Garant

Cathryn Garant, a beacon of warmth and resilience, passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 96. Born and raised in Toluca, Illinois, her roots deeply influenced her life.
A devoted wife, Cathryn shared a lifetime of love with her late husband (2017), Walter Garant. Together, they built a home filled with kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Her greatest pride was her family. She leaves behind her three beloved sons-Eric, Bryce, and Drew-their wives, Valerie, True, and Dorothy, and grandchildren Ian, Lanae, Austin, and Jason (2016), as well as great-grandchildren Brittnie and CJ.
Cathryn lived with a quiet strength and a generous heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known her.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the lives she enriched.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, at the Catholic Church and she will be interred with her husband at the new Veteran's Cemetery when it opens later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations you would like to make, be made to a charity or cause of your choosing, in her honor.
