Marshall Gwaine DeMasters

Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away on February 24, 2026 in Cedar City, Utah, at the age of 90.

Gwaine was born August 17, 1935 to Marshal N. DeMasters and Edith F. Gerber in Alhambra California. Gwaine was the oldest of nine children, Four brothers, Arnold, John, Jasper and Grandon. Four sisters, Lorna, Marilyn, Mariom and Hazel.

Gwaine married in the early 1950 to Wanda Jean Welch. They were blessed with four children: Gwenda Jean, Marshal Allen, Kathy Fern, and Orlas Dee DeMasters. Gwaine and Wanda later divorce.

On November 9, 1968, Gwaine married Anna Victoria Moore. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles California LDS temple. They were blessed with one daughter, Marshanna Rose. Anna came into the marriage with four children: Suzann, Paul, Phillip and Jefferey Moore from a previous marriage.

Gwaine was a truck driver most of his life. He moved to Cedar city Utah around 1995 and drove for Payne Trucking for a few years. After retiring from trucking, He saw a need for fresh California oranges in Southern Utah, so he started The DeMasters & Son's Orange sales, and proudly hauled and sold the oranges at Peterson Plumbing in Cedar and Dutchman's Market in Santa Clara, Utah for over 25 years before retiring.

Gwaine is survived by his children, Gwenda Sevier of Noble, Oklahoma, Marshal Allen DeMasters of Heber City, Utah, Orlas (Jennifer) DeMasters of Cedar City, Utah, Suzann Morton of Porterville, California, Paul Moore of Cedar City, Utah, Phillip Moore of Mendocino, California, Jefferey (Kathryn) Moore, of Cedar City Utah; son-in-law Randy Simpson of Utah; his brothers, Arnold (Sue) DeMasters of California, John DeMasters of Missouri, and Jasper (Janice) of California; his sisters, Lorna Smith of California, Marilyn (Larry) Dean, of Utah, Mariom (Don) Dowling of Utah, and Hazel (Robert) Ridenour of California; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Anna DeMasters; beloved daughters, Kathy Simpson and Marshanna Beaver; sons-in-law, Leon Sevier Jr., Allen (Marlon) Beaver and William (Bill) Mortan; brother, Grandon DeMasters, brother/sister-in-law Karen DeMasters and Wayne Smith; and his parents Marshal & Edith DeMasters

The Family would like to thank Doctor Jason North for all the years of medical care and jokes/puns while taking care of Gwaine and Stonehenge Nursing and Rehabilitation center and the hospice nurses. A special thank you to Nic & Lisa Frei of the Dutchman's Market and Don Peterson (owner), Jennifer Young-Slack (manager) of Peterson Plumbing and all our friends from both places. Thank you to Ron Madic for the many years of friendship. Thank you to Zion Sun Floral for helping with the flowers.

Funeral services for Gwaine will be held on Saturday March 7, 2026 at 10:00 am at Southern Utah Mortuary. A viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 9:45 am.
