MS. Cathryn Green

MS. CATHRYN GREEN, age 85, of 3201 Granderson Road, Appling, GA, passed on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at her residence. Family members and friends may call at the funeral home. THOMSON FUNERAL SYSTEM, Thomson, GA oversees all arrangements.
MS. CATHRYN GREEN was born on August 24, 1940, to the late Rev. Albert Green and the late Sis. Susie Thomas Green, in Appling, GA (Columbia County).
She was raised in a God-fearing home. At an early age, Cathryn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and she was baptized at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Appling, GA, under the leadership of Rev. E.W. Thompson.
Cathryn received her primary education from Walnut Grove Elementary School in Appling, GA. She graduated from the John P. Blanchard Consolidated High School of Appling, GA, in 1960.
Cathryn was a devoted member of the Senior Gospel Choir at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She retired from Club Car after more than 25 years of dedicated service.
She loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves.
On October 5, 2025, Cathryn passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Cathryn leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted son, Rico (Andrea) Green of Grovetown, GA; three grandchildren, Haley Green, Brianna Johnson, both of Grovetown, GA and Brandon Johnson of Atlanta, GA; a loving sister, Carol Green of Appling, GA; a brother, Cornelius (Janie) Green of Appling, GA; one sister-in-law, Vera Green of Augusta, GA; three devoted nieces, Susie (James) Pollard of Martinez GA; Cassie (Lorenzo) Heggs of Thomson, GA and Emma (John) Tucker of Columbia, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a special goddaughter, who will forever treasure her memory.
