Cathy Carter

Cathy "CC" Carter passed away peacefully January 17, 2025. She was 95 years old. Born Donna Jean Glasser in Canton, Ohio, she later adopted the stage name by which she was known thereafter.
A gifted singer, actor, and dancer, her career in the entertainment business encompassed the spectrum from nightclubs to Broadway musicals, televison, film and radio. She appeared as Anita in the Hawaiian production of West Side Story, and as Mary Magdalene in the Broadway touring company of Jesus Christ, Super Star. For seven years she performed as female vocalist with the Harry James Band. She appeared as the opening act for Nat King Cole, and also was called for studio work in Los Angeles where she recorded with Nelson Riddle and as a background vocalist with Frank Sinatra.
In a review published in 1967, one entertainment critic said of her: Cathy sings with warmth, feeling and sincerity which most definitely projects her inherent ability to mold each and every song into an almost total recall of experiences which will excite any audience.
Following her entertainment career, she went on to work as an interior designer, real estate agent, and office manager.
She was a strong, kind, beautiful, and independent woman who made many friends over the course of her long life. May she rejoice in being reunited with the loved ones who have preceded her in passing, and may her beautiful spirit continue to sing in God's presence and in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry Walker (Barbara Moericke) and Stephen Longo (Lisa Coffey), her sister Carol Fleishour, half sisters Nancy Hall Kirven, Brenda Hall Frazier, and Connie Glasser Roudebush, two granddaughters, four great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, and one grandson.
