Cathy Alene Cotter, age 53, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on February 1, 1972, in Salem, Arkansas, to Stanley Clayton and Ruby Dean (Shrable) Perdue.
Cathy dedicated over 30 years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. Her compassion and kindness touched countless lives throughout her career in healthcare. She married the love of her life, Ronnie Dean Cotter, on May 2, 2019, in Viola, Arkansas, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Cathy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and “Mimi.” She never met a stranger and loved everyone she encountered. She was always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or share a smile. Cathy found joy in the simple things—spending time with her family, floating the river, traveling to Florida, and being outdoors surrounded by nature. She attended the Viola Solid Rock Assembly in Viola, Arkansas, where her faith and kindness shone brightly. She loved her Lord and Savior.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Ronnie Cotter of Viola, Arkansas; son, Ronnie Cotter, Jr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two daughters, Brittany Barker (Daniel) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Lizzy Cotter of Mountain View, Arkansas; four precious grandchildren, Aundreya Barker, Aedyn Barker, Althea Barker, and Karmin Barker; her mother, Ruby Perdue of Viola, Arkansas; brother, Stanley Perdue (Elma) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two sisters, Angela Hansen (Keith) of Great Bend, Kansas, and Beverly Sanders of Viola, Arkansas; and three aunts, Cathy LeGrand (Raymond) of Oran, Missouri, Sharon Sullins of Gepp, Arkansas, and Rebecca McConnell (Eddie) of Oran, Missouri. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Perdue, and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Viola Solid Rock Assembly in Viola, Arkansas, with Bro. Allen Cartwright and Bro. Joe Garner officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will follow in the Viola Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Lee Hutson, Lynn Coggins, Verlin Cotter, Marlin Coggins, Miles Newton, and Wayne Sullins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Cotter, Jr., Levi Sanders, Trace King, Daniel Barker, Ethan Sanders, and Steven Harber.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
