Kenneth Cotter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Plymouth on Mar. 6, 2026.
Kenneth R. "Kenny" Cotter, age 72, of Adell, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, and stories shared with those who knew and loved him.

Kenny was born on September 22, 1953, to Reuben and Shirley (Berth) Cotter. He grew up in Adell, attended Adell grade schools, and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1972.

On November 7, 1987, Kenny married the love of his life, Jayne Thome, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell, where he remained a lifelong member.

Following high school, Kenny pursued his talent for mechanics and built a long and dedicated career doing what he loved. He worked for 30 years as an auto mechanic at Meyer Motors and later worked at Schu Industries in Random Lake. After retirement, he enjoyed working outdoors at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake and Fire Ridge Golf Course in Saukville, where he took pride in helping care for the courses.

Kenny had a deep love for sports which including playing in his younger years. He played baseball and softball and spent winters racing snowmobiles. He also enjoyed attending races in Plymouth and Kaukauna.

Bowling later became a favorite pastime, and Kenny bowled in league for many years, even achieving the remarkable accomplishment of a perfect 300 game.

Golf remained one of Kenny's greatest passions. He loved being around the game, whether caring for the courses where he worked or getting out to play a round himself. He especially treasured his yearly trips to Colorado to visit his son, Jordan. Some of his most cherished moments were spent golfing and sharing rounds with his wife and son.

When he wasn't outdoors or enjoying one of his hobbies, Kenny could often be found cheering on his favorite sports team- whether it was the Brewers, Badgers or the Green Bay Packers- there wasn't a game he wasn't tuned into. He also enjoyed the quiet company of his beloved cat, Lucy.

Above all, Kenny treasured time with his family and friends. His easygoing spirit, strong work ethic, and love of life will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jayne; his son, Jordan of Lakewood, CO; brothers Keith (Donna) of Glenbeulah and Steve (Sue) of Waldo; sister-in-law Julie (Dan) Riemert of Belgium; brothers-in-law Rick (Jane) Thome of Plymouth, Neal (Karen) Thome of Lake Mills, and Steve (Diane) Thome of Fredonia; aunts, Marlene Miske and Gloria Berth; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Shirley Cotter, and his wife's parents, Richard and Patricia Thome.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. Visitation will take place from 2:00–4:00 PM, with a service to follow at 4:00 PM. Rev. Paul Marks will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kenny's name are appreciated.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rev. Paul Marks, the First Responders, and the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department for their care and compassion.
