James "Jim" M. Cotter, 89, died Thursday, February 12, 2026. Jim worked for Cessna 47 years and was an income tax preparer his entire life. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Jim was kind and gentle, and although he wasn't much of a hugger, we knew he loved us. He was a worrier and couldn't rest until he knew everyone was safe and sound. Well, he's resting now in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ.

Rosary will be at 9:30 am, Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Donna K. Cotter; sons, James "Mike" Cotter, Christopher Cotter; parents, Stephen and Mildred Cotter; and brother, Larry Cotter.

He is survived by his sons, Stephen (Diane) Cotter of Wichita, KS, Richard (Michelle) Cotter, of Springdale, AR, Patrick Cotter; daughters, Karen (Kenny) Rodgers, Lee Ann (Steven) Burns, all of Wichita; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; dogs, Daisy, Doggie.

Memorials have been established with: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 South Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202; American Red Cross – Midway Kansas Chapter, 707 North Main, Wichita, Kansas 67203.

Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary – East Chapel.
