Mrs. Cathy Lord Dean, age 66, of Dublin, GA died on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, May 25, at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church, with Rev. Rusty Stewart officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will from 1:00 to 2:00 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Cathy was a life-long resident of Laurens County and a graduate of West Laurens High School. She served the students of Laurens County for 33 years at Northwest Laurens Elementary School. Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, and "Nana" who spent her days loving and enjoying her family. Cathy was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. She loved staying active by working in her yards and took great pride in her landscaping skills. Cathy was the daughter of the late Viola Cauthen Lord and Clayton Lord and was preceded in death by her brothers James Lord, Wendell Lord, Billy Lord, and Gary Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years – David Dean; Daughter – Courtney (Derek) Albritton; Son – Cory (Jenna) Dean; Four Grandchildren – Cameron Albritton, Corbin Albritton, Jasper Dean, & Chloe Dean; Sisters – Ann Taylor and Dorothy (Bobby) Branch; Brother – Earl (Katrina) Lord; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Cathy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

So many memories with Cathy. We: went to church together at New Bethel Baptist, rode the school bus together, we played at each others house a lot, when I started driving my Dad's car she and Gary carpooled with me everyday to school, we rode my 350 Honda through plowed fields and to Dexter to our other best friends', the Darsey sisters, house, I watched her relationship with David grow, she and I both married our highschool sweethearts, she was a bridesmaid in my wedding..I could go on and on. Cathy was a precious soul that loved most everyone she met. She was dedicated to Jesus and she loved her family beyond measure. They were her life. It will be a wonderful day when we will see her again in heaven after Jesus calls us all home.

So sorry to hear my friend from childhood passed away. Growing up around the corner from each other we shared many growing up memories. So thankful we will be together again one day in our heavenly home.
