Chadrick Eugene "Chad" LaRock, age 65, passed away peacefully in his home on August 29, 2025, seven years after he was diagnosed with stage IV kidney cancer and given only 7-9 months to live. Talk about the might power of God! Even when receiving the cancer diagnosis, Chad declared his faith that God was in total control, and he knew was going was to use this for good. Chad expressed his faith and shared his story of stage IV cancer survival with everyone he met, even those who didn't care to listen!
Born on September 26, 1959, in Ada, Minnesota, Chad's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, family, and friendship. His life was shaped by his late parents, Rodney and Rose Marlene LaRock; his maternal grandparents, Christopher and Rose Stai; his paternal grandparents, Asa and Edna LaRock; his father -in-law, Eddie H. "Buddy" Floyd; his brother-in- law, Robert Feakes and many extended family members who loved and supported each other through all of Life's circumstances
A devoted husband, Chad and his wife Jeana met as coworkers at the Department of Labor. They were married for 26 years, realizing that a good marriage takes commitment to God, and commitment and patience with each other.
Chad's service in the United States Navy instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried into his civilian life. His 36-year career with the United States Department of Labor as an IT Specialist/Webmaster reflected his dedication to excellence and his ability in innovation and problem solving.
A faithful member of Liberty Church, Chad loved God with all his heart. He found solace and strength in Bible study, and his faith illuminated the path for many others. Chad was a loyal friend and a family-oriented man, always ready to lend an ear, an opinion, or a helping hand.
Chad's youthful spirit never waned. He was a kid at heart, with a passion for all things remote-controlled-rockets, planes, trains, and automobiles brought him endless delight. He loved all kinds of music, and collected over 8,000 records which required a Fort Knox like fortification of the room where they were housed. Chad also loved and appreciated old muscle cars. He was a voracious reader of the Bible as well as other books. These hobbies were a reflection of his boundless curiosity and his appreciation for the intricate beauty of life's many adventures.
Chad is survived by his wife, Jeana Floyd LaRock; his brother, Anthony LaRock (Liz); his sister, Lynette Feakes; mother-in-law, Glenda Cook Floyd; brothers-in-law, Eddie Floyd
(Debbie), Mark Floyd, (Christy) Marshall Floyd, (Cathy) and Anthony Wooten; cherished cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and irreplaceable friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 4, 2025. at Liberty Church with Pastor Nate Dooley, Pastor Kagan McClain, and Pastor Josh Slocum officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Thursday at the church prior to the services.
Pallbearers will be Eddie B. Floyd, Mark Floyd, Marshall Floyd, Eddie H. Floyd, Wade Floyd and Mike Carroll.
