Cathy Ann Kilpatrick Joye, born on December 5, 1972, departed from this world on January 28, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Cathy is survived by her daughter, Brittney (Dalton) McGovern, and was a proud grandmother(Nana) to Hunter, Isaac, Kayleb, and Maddie, and her nurturing spirit will continue to shine through in the lives of her grandchildren.
She was a beloved sister to Rick (Betsy), Shelly (Scotty), and Tommy (Litsa). Cathy embraced her role as an aunt, bringing joy to the lives of her nieces Whitney, Kailey, Morgan, and her nephews Chase and Bryce. Her great niece, Audrey Lynn, was a source of delight in Cathy's heart.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Linda Kilpatrick, but her memory lives on in the family bonds she helped strengthen. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the love and laughter shared among her relatives.
A woman of diverse passions, Cathy had a special fondness for darts and bingo, where she connected with friends and created lasting memories. Her love for these activities reflected her vibrant spirit and the importance she placed on community.
Cathy's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to family and friends. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember her with gratitude for the warmth she brought to our lives and the love she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 5:00-6:00pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the service starting at 6:00pm.
