Cathy McCarthy, 68 of Midland, was called to heaven on August 3, 2024.
Cathy was born on August 9, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to George and Anna McCarthy of Taos, New Mexico. She attended New Mexico State University and received a bachelor's degree in education. She taught history and economics at Taos High School for 17 years. Cathy also helped her father, George, run the family ranches. She also loved to play softball, rodeo, barrel racing, show horses, move and separate the cattle along, she also helped lead the local 4-H club.
Cathy stopped teaching to help run the cattle ranches and raise her son. Her personality was one of a kind. She would tell you exactly what was on her mind for better or for worse. She was loving and caring and would move the world to help someone. Cathy was just a pleasure to be around. What an amazing woman and mother she will be missed very much.
Cathy is survived by her son, Daniel Trujillo, friends and neighbors.
Cathy is preceded in death by George and Anna McCarthy
The family would like to express our gratitude towards friends, hospital staff and hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
