Cathy Smiley Obituary
Cathy M. Smiley (aka Kotch), age 69, passed away on January 9, 2026.
Cathy had just completed 45 years as a nurse at West Allis Memorial Hospital, and she had no interest in retiring. Caring for her patients meant the world to her.
She was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. She was a book lover and read constantly.
She enjoyed yearly vacation in the Northwoods, as well as a couple trips to the area casinos.
Cathy was a caring sister, co-worker and friend. Anyone who knew her knows she would not want a funeral; she’d want a party.
All are welcome to join us for a casual gathering to celebrate Cathy on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Meyer's Restaurant (4260 S 76th St, Greenfield, WI 53220). Gathering will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with dinner at 6:00 PM.
Cathy is survived by her sisters Sue (Ed) Bott, Judy (the late Bob Niemi) Smiley, Joanne Smiley; and a large tree of cousins, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Milo and Emily (nee Kniewel) Smiley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Cathy's name can be made to West Allis Memorial Hospital.
