CANISTEO: Caulin M. Keeney, 14, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Caulin was born January 28, 2011 in Hornell to Alyssa Grillo and Stewart Keeney. He was a middle school 8 grade student at Canisteo-Greenwood Central School where he attended the Phoenix Academy, BOCES program in Elmira.
He enjoyed playing soccer and wrestling for the school and also had a great deal of interest in cooking, painting and art, music and animals. He also liked to go fishing and hunting.
Caulin is survived by his mother Alyssa Grillo of Canisteo, his father Stewart Keeney of Hornell, a twin brother Abel Keeney of Canisteo, brothers Logan Keeney of Ontario, CA and Stewart R. Keeney of Howard, a sister Jennifer Keeney of Canisteo, his maternal grandparents Peter and Colleen Grillo of Hornell, paternal grandmother Dena Mark of Cohocton, paternal grandfather David (Angel) Keeney of Howard, great grandmother Betty Keeney of Maryland and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His heart was touched by the love of a very special girl, for whom we will forever be grateful.
He was predeceased by grandfather Robert Mark, great grandfather Walter A. Keeney, and Aunt, Jennifer R. Keeney and Uncle, Mickey L. Keeney.
A private service was held at the convenience of the family at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
Memorial contributions in Caulin's name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843 and/or to the society for the prevention of teen suicide, at sptsusa.org.
