Cayetano Serafin Trevino, affectionately known as "Cat," was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose presence illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Born on October 1, 1957, in Mathis, Texas, Cayetano spent his life rooted in his community, where he became known for his unwavering support, kindness, and sense of humor.
He passed away on June 22, 2025, in Mathis, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that will be cherished by family and friends. Cayetano was always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer support, embodying the true spirit of community and companionship. His dedication as a hardworking provider revealed his deep commitment to his loved ones, and he approached every aspect of life with purpose and heart.
Cayetano found joy in the simple pleasures that life offered. He cherished moments spent with family and friends, often BBQing on weekends, where laughter and love thrived. Trips to the casino with his wife and close friends were adventures he looked forward to, filled with excitement and camaraderie. His infectious laughter and knack for cracking jokes could light up any room, leaving an indelible mark on those around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosita Trevino; daughters, Sara Aguilar (Adrian) and Tomasa Garcia (Sergio); siblings, Robert Trevino, Greg Trevino (Celeste), Sylvia Herrera, Irene Garcia (Fidel), Idalia Acosta (Martin), and Mary Moore (Larry); 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cayetano is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Margarita Trevino; sister, Santos Hinojosa; and brothers, Samuel Trevino and Epifanio Villarreal.
The warmth and generosity that characterized Cayetano's life will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of calling him family or friend. His legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication will continue to inspire those left behind.
