Cecelia "Sissy" Tarantelli Ancell, age 81 years, a resident of the Crystal Springs Community, Elkins, WV departed this life Sunday September 7, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She had been in declining health. She was born Tuesday, May 30, 1933 at Harding, WV a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Mastrogusippe Tarantelli. On July 10, 1971, she was married to James Franklin Ancell, who preceded her in death May 28, 2002. They had celebrated thirty years of marriage. Surviving are one sister, Angela Miller and husband Clarence of Elkins; one sister in law, Karen Tarantelli of Scott Depot; two nieces, Jayne Hunt of NC, Deborah Recknor of Elkins; two nephews, Michael L. Miller and wife Robin of Elkins, Joseph A. Tarantelli and wife Lauren of OK; three great nieces, Cathie Recknor, Megan Sessions and husband Jay, all of Elkins; Isabella Tarantelli of OK; two great nephews, Anthony Tarantelli and Franklin Tarantelli, both of OK; and two great great nieces, Kinley McCallister of Elkins; Brooklynn Sessions of Weston; and her "special family", Vicki, Kim, Jessica, Linda, Ashley, Emily, Arvella and Kelly, who have cared for her lovingly for the last year. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Tony and Ernest Joseph Tarantelli and three sisters, Jean Antolini, Valeria Tarantelli, and Dora Michalena Carlucci. She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1951 and Davis & Elkins College earning an Associate's Degree in Business. After college she worked with State Farm Insurance, retiring after twenty-five years and then had worked as a Purchasing Agent for the General Services Administration, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Tygarts Valley Post # 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the H. W. Daniel's Unit # 29, American Legion Auxiliary, the Saint Brendan Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Guild. The family would like to thank Hospice Care Corporation The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday. On Thursday, at 7 PM, at the funeral home, a wake service will be conducted by the Very Rev. Donald X. Higgs, VF. On Friday, September, 12, 2014 Mrs. Ancell will be moved to the Saint Brendan Catholic Church where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. The Very Rev. Donald X. Higgs, VF will be the Presider and interment will follow at the American Legions Little Arlington Cemetery at Cravensdale, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Boulevard, Suite # 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
