CeCelia Mae Boone

It is with both profound sorrow and boundless gratitude that we acknowledge the passing of Cecelia Peterson Boone, a woman whose compassionate spirit, loving heart, and unwavering dedication to her family, faith, and community left an indelible
mark on all who were privileged to know her.
She was born September 17, 1946, in Hartsville, South Carolina, daughter of Jerry Peterson and Mary Jackson Peterson. Cecelia spent her life in service to others both as a dedicated Home Care Aide professional and as an active and beloved member of the Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church. Her devotion to her community was only surpassed by her love for her family. Cecelia's passing on August 24, 2023, leaves a void that will be filled by the enduring legacy of the love and kindness she embodied throughout her life.
Cecelia was a beacon of comfort and support to everyone she met. Her life was a testament to the words from her favorite book, the Bible: "Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8). She found joy in baking for her loved ones, solving word search puzzles, and shopping. She was a member of the Hamilton Tent #171. She held various positions at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church including Mother of the Church, Deacon, Usher, and Member of the Gospel Choir. She was a living testament to the Christian values of love, kindness, and selfless service.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mary Peterson; her siblings, Gerald Peterson, Larry Peterson, Bobby Peterson, and Carolyn Myers; and five grandchildren.
Cecelia is survived by her loving husband, Wilson Boone; children, Jacqueline Kennedy, Mary Peterson, Joyce (Clyde) Thomas, Wilson Boone, Jr., Carla Looney, and Princess (Willie) Boone; siblings, Brooks Peterson, Elizabeth Robinson, James (Christy) Peterson, Carl Peterson, Michael (Luella) Peterson, Louise Mitchell, Jerry Lee (Angie) Peterson, Leslie (Martha) Peterson, and Joseph Peterson; and 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her warmth, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
