Catherine Boone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Metropolitan Funeral Service - Berkley Chapel on Feb. 18, 2026.
Catherine Delores Boone was born on April 11, 1945, in Norfolk County, VA, now Chesapeake, VA, to the late Floyd E. Johnson, Sr. and Mamie M. Johnson ne Alexander. She was married for over 50 years tothe late Wilson Boone. She is preceded in death by Floyd E. Johnson, Jr. (Daphne), Sharon Hinton, Cynthia McEachin, and her son, Warner Boone, and the oldest living relative, Uncle Foster Alexander, of Chesapeake, VA. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Nelson T. Boone, Patrick Boone (Kelly), Ronald Boone (Amy), Wanda Williams, Ricky Mann (Kelly), Timothy Mann, and Clayton Boone; a host of grand children; her siblings, Louis Johnson (Loretta), Charles Johnson (Patricia), and Nelson Johnson (Delores).

She was a proud and faithful member of Baptist Rock Full Gospel Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Eason. Her working years were spent as a Team Leader at Stuart Sandwiches and as a Home Health Aid.

Catherine loved to travel with her husband and her siblings. Her travels with her husband allowed her to relocate and live in both Florida and Connecticut for a period of time while raising her young children.

Catherine was the Johnson Familys Matriarch and most trusted confidant. She had a way of making everyone feel like they were her favorite person. She was wise, intelligent, patient, and a Mother to everyone who needed her. Everyone who came in contact with her was impacted by her gift of wisdom and her willingness to guide us with it in counsel. She always told us the truth, even if we didnt want to hear it. If she could speak for herself today, she would want you to know that although we have lost a lot, now is the time to hold on tighter to one another.
