Cecelia L. Lausch, 93, a beloved homemaker and devoted family member, passed away on August 24, 2025, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born on September 20, 1931, in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late John & Dorothy (Yarock) Brossman. She was also the loving wife of William L. Lausch for 53 years until his passing in 2009.
Cecelia was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1950. After completing her education, she dedicated herself to her family, embracing the role of a loving housewife and homemaker with grace and dedication. Cecelia found fulfillment in simple pleasures, cultivating a passion for gardening and cooking, which she shared generously with her loved ones. A true homebody at heart, she cherished moments spent with family, instilling warmth and love in every gathering. Cecelia’s legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support for her family serves as an enduring testament to her character. She will be remembered fondly and live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Cecelia is survived by her children, William J. (Lyn), of Denver, Pennsylvania, Marian Lausch of Reinholds, Michael L. (Heather) of Sinking Spring, and Capt. David L. (Julie) of Orinda, California; and five grandchildren, Celia and Joseph Sgaramella, Lydia Lausch, and Taryn and Alanna Lausch. Additionally, she is survived by her two great-grandchildren, Dominick and Waverly Keith, as well as her twin sister Amelia Erb, sister Doris Harker, and sister Elenore Hartranft. Along with her husband and parents, Cecelia is predeceased by four brothers: John Brossman, Clyde Brossman, Harold Brossman, and Jay Brossman.
A viewing will be held on September 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, located at 11 Muddy Creek Church Road, Denver, PA. A graveside service will follow at Muddy Creek Lutheran Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
