F. John Hause, 82, of Reading, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 18, 1942, in Reading, he was the son of the late Francis G. Hause & Jean E. (Barto) Youndt. He was also the loving husband of Claudia Ann (Engle) Hause for a wonderful 62 years.

John began his career working alongside his stepfather in the family butcher shop, an experience that laid the foundation for a lifelong dedication to the craft. He later expanded his skills at the Bollman Hat Factory, where he spent valuable years brimming hats before returning to the world of butchering at the Youndt Brothers butcher shop in Fivepointville. His considerable expertise and commitment to quality culminated in a long and fulfilling tenure at Conestoga, where he worked from 1998 until his retirement in 2010.

Beyond his professional endeavors, John was deeply passionate about his personal interests. He found joy in hunting and fishing at the family hunting camp, creating lasting memories with his family in the great outdoors. He was particularly renowned for his culinary prowess, especially in making homemade scrapple, a testament to his love for traditions and family gatherings. John took immense pride in raising his family in the Adamstown area, nurturing them with love and instilling values that continue to resonate within the family today. John will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, dedication to family, and the indelible mark he left on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Along with his wife, John is survived by three children, Richard L. Hause (Lynette) of Robesonia, Scott A. Hause of West Lawn, and Deborah A. Sweigart (Brian) of New Holland; four grandchildren, Jessica (Anthony) Mancini, Rebecca (Paul) Santasieri, Riley Hause, and Destiny Hause, as well as two great-grandchildren, Malia and Bradley. He is also survived by his siblings, Margery Hornberger, Janet Schannauer, Donna Shrek, Allen Youndt, and Wilson Youndt.
