Tom Hause, age 80, passed away early in the morning on April 7, 2025. He was born in Detroit, MI and is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Agnes Hause, and his sister, Mary Macdonald.
Tom graduated from U of D High School in 1962, and received his B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Detroit Institute of Technology and his Masters degree from Wayne State University. He began his career at Ford Motor Company in the Ford College Graduate Program, and he retired 30 years later. His years at Ford were filled with enthusiasm as he navigated his engineering duties throughout his career. He enjoyed his involvement with driving on the test track, evaluating vehicles, and learning how to become a test driver himself.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He truly enjoyed hunting, boating, traveling, and just keeping busy. He enjoyed his hunting property and being at the lake. He especially loved spending time with his family. Family time was very special to Tom.
Tom is survived by his wife, Chris Hause, of almost 60 years, his daughter, Carey (John) Rinke, son, Kevin (Laura) Hause, five grandchildren; Evan (Kaitlin,) Meredith (Matthew,) Micah (Molly,) Allison, Megan, and three great-grandchildren, Tatum, Norah, and Anne and another great-grandchild due in June. Tom is also survived by his brother, John (Cheryl) Hause, his brother-in-law, John Macdonald, nieces and nephews, and his loyal pup, Cody.
Per Tom's wishes, cremation will occur and a private family gathering to celebrate his life is planned for this summer.
Tom loved the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in his memory and remember his love of life and nature as it grows strong and tall. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Thomas, please visit our Tree Store.
