Funeral services for Cecil Edward Boothe, 73 of Jonesville, LA will be held at New Life Pentecostal Church in Manifest, LA at 10AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 with Bro. David Poole and Bro. Chad Franklin officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home - Jonesville. The family will receive friends at New Life Pentecostal Church from 5PM until 8PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Cecil Edward Boothe was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1951 in Wisner, LA. and passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at his home in Jonesville, LA. Cecil was a devoted man of faith who never shied away from a conversation and was always proud to share his testimony. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel like a friend. Known for his brutal honesty, Cecil always told you exactly how it was, with sincerity and heart. He worked hard as a welder in the oilfield, often on shutdowns, and spent many years as a commercial fisherman-a life that suited his love for the outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, Cecil found peace in nature. Above all, he loved his family deeply, including his loyal dog Winston, who was just as much a part of the family. Cecil leaves behind a legacy of truth, faith, and unwavering love. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Annie Boothe, sister, Elsie Boothe Mitchell, 3 brothers, Joseph Boothe, Dannie Paul Boothe, and James Milton Boothe.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Anita Boothe; 3 daughters, Dana Wiley and her husband Mitchel, Mary Youngblood, Carrie Porter and her husband Johnny, and Phyllis Ann Boothe; granddaughter, Courtney Illagan, granddaughter, Cassidy Cagle, grandson, Eli Porter, granddaughter, Briana Bell, great-granddaughter, Aubrey Illagan; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Those honoring Cecil as pallbearers will be Rodney Cockerham, Gary Ford, Aubrey Ford, Ronnie Cockerham, Eli Porter, and Colby Cotton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Michot, Donald Laprairie, Johnny Porter, Mitchel Wiley, Wayne Ford, Aubrey Ford, Johnny Goodwin and Harold Sones.
