Cecil Arline Turner, Jr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 20th after a lengthy period of declining health.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 11:30 – 12:30 at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 2100 E. 5th Street in Greenville. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm in Greenwood Cemetery, adjacent to St. Peter's Catholic School, 2606 E. 5th Street in Greenville.

Cecil was a native of Greenville, NC, and the son of Cecil A. Turner, Sr. and Pearl Waldrep Turner. He graduated from J. H. Rose High School and Greenville School of Commerce and was employed by Greer Rental Agency. Cecil then formed T&T Cleaners with his cousin, Bryant Tripp, which he ran for many years until his retirement in 1993. Cecil was a lifetime member of Jarvis United Methodist Church and served as church treasurer for 15 years.

He loved sports of every kind. His favorite teams included the UNC Tar Heels, Atlanta Braves, Carolina Panthers, and Carolina Hurricanes. Known for his quick wit and love of a good joke, he also enjoyed trips to the family farm near Bethel and "The Store" at Whitehurst Station. Above all, Cecil cherished his family, friends, and caregivers, whose support meant everything to him through the years.

Cecil is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Selma Elizabeth (Libby) Dudley Turner, and his parents.

He is survived by his son, Cecil Thomas (Tom) Turner, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Haight Turner, and grandson, Luke Thomas Turner, of Cary, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jarvis United Methodist Church, 510 S. Washington Street, Greenville, NC, 27858.
