Cecile Salveggio Obituary
Cecile was born on September 17, 1938 to the late Emil and Pauline (Choquette) Plante in Willimantic, CT. On September 7, 1957 she married her husband John who survives her.
Throughout her life Cecile was involved in many things including holding many secretarial positions for insurance offices but photography with students was her favorite while working as a photography assistant in the local school systems. She also was involved on the Sunshine Committee at Oak Forest Homeowners Association and helped with Knights of Columbus Pasta Dinners at St Raphael Church in Englewood, FL. Her greatest joy however was her family.
Besides her husband John, Cecile is also survived by her children; Thomas (Susan) Salveggio, Karen (Robert) Allard, and David Salveggio. She is also survived by one brother, Joseph Plante, three grandchildren; Amy (Steven) Powers, Kelly (Brian) Pinkerton and Caitlin (Jacob) Gawendo, and four great-grandchildren; Lula Szmyt, Vaughn Szmyt, Amera Powers and Mila Gawendo.
A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 6pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 7pm at the Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield, CT.
Donations in Cecile's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, at lung.org/give.
