Joseph Salveggio Obituary
November 2, 1953 - June 17, 2025
Joseph Lee Salveggio Sr, passed away on June 17, 2025. Joe was born on November 2, 1953 in San Pedro, Calif. After graduating in 1971 from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif., he joined the United States Army. In 1978, he moved his family to Oregon, where he built a life full of family and friendships. Joe spent 10 years of service in both the United States Army and the Oregon Army National Guard. He worked as a truck driver and is a retired Deputy Sheriff of Linn County.
Joe was known for his love of his entire family, his country, the Oregon Ducks, camping, hunting, and umpiring youth baseball.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca, of 53 years; his sister, Pam; three children, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home on July 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. He will have his military burial at Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Ore. at 2:30.
